Chapter 11– Baby Brother’s First Official Creek Adventure

Today we took Baby Brother on his first official creek adventure.   It did not go so well.  He almost died five times.  Everything started off great.  We were walking down the road enjoying life when all of a sudden things went really bad.

Baby Brother usually follows me everywhere and it's really annoying.  But today he decided to take off running down the road.  He almost got hit by a car.

There wasn't a car coming but if there had been it would have hit him.

I had to quick let out a YIP so that he would turn around and look at me.  Then I quickly turned around and started running back up the hill so he would follow me.

It worked.  Crisis averted.

Mom told him he had to stay close, so he did for the rest of the walk to the creek.  We made it safely and I was so excited.  I love our creek adventures.  There are so many smells and so much water and sticks of ALL sizes.  I swim and run and chase things.  But the most fun of all is playing with soooooo many sticks.

At first Baby Brother was afraid to step into the water but I showed him that it is so much fun.  He started following me again.

I was chasing a stick in the water and I looked over and he was just about to grab a SNAKE!!! OH NO!!!  Here we go again.  He's going to die!

So I quickly ran over and grabbed that bad bad snake and carried it out onto the gravel bar.  It was actually a stick but it could have been a snake and he could have died AGAIN.

Phew that was a close one.

Mom decided we should walk the creek a little further.  I was walking along when I smelled something up in the field.  It was a deer.  So of course I had to run up and investigate.

Suddenly, I heard mom yelling.  My Baby Brother had followed me.  He was going to get speared by that deer's antlers.

I never saw the deer but if it had been there it would have definitely speared him and he would have died.

Mom called me so I turned and ran back down the hill.  My baby brother followed me and almost got lost on the way down and then he almost got tangled up in some brush and got strangled and died again.

Good grief.

I decided I needed to take a break from Baby Brother and decided to go swimming.  Swimming is so relaxing and I just love it.

So there I was practicing my Princess Water Prancing and completely minding my own business and then I look over and Baby Brother is falling into the giant water hole.  He is going to drown and die for sure this time.

I grabbed the nearest stick and swam over to him.  I was going to have him grab onto the stick so I could pull him out.  He hadn't actually fallen in but he could have and he would have died.

It is a good thing I was there for Baby Brother's first creek adventure or he may not have survived.  I am not sure I can handle anymore adventures with him though. He almost died five times today and it was just way to stressful for a Princess like me.  Maybe tomorrow Mom will leave Baby Brother home and bring me back to the creek so I can practice my Princess Water Prancing in peace.

I am exhausted after rescuing Baby Brother so many times.  It's time for me to relax.  Where is my favorite stick?  There it is...Gotta Go

Sage here.  I had the best day EVER.

Mommy took us on a creek adventure.  It was so much fun.  My Big Sister and I ran down the road.  My legs got going too fast and the next thing I knew I was in the lead. 😁  That NEVER happens.

I turned around and panicked because my mommy was so far away so I ran back to her.

We made it to the creek and it was like a whole new world.   It was this magical stream of running water right in the middle of our yard.  I ran up to it and stuck my toe in.  It was cold.  Then my Big Sister just splashed right into it.  She is so brave.  So I followed her.  I found a stick and grabbed it so I could be just like my Big Sister.

But she took it away from me.  How rude.

I followed my Big Sister everywhere she went.  I didn't even think about being so far away from mommy because I was having so much fun and my Big Sister is so brave that I wasn't even afraid.

My Big Sister seemed kind of anxious though.  She is a girl and I hear they are moody so maybe that's it.  😉🤫

We ran and jumped and play with sticks.  We climbed a cliff but Mommy called us back.  I decided to take the adventurous way.  I mean this is a creek ADVENTURE, right.  I got a little tangled but I just wiggled my way out.

We played and played and I was starting to get really tired but my Big Sister decided to go for a swim.

I ran around that big green pool watching her.  It looked like it might swallow me so I didn't dare even attempt to go in.  I stayed right there watching my Big Sister swim.  The she came blasting at me with a stick like she was going to poke me with it so I ran the other way.

We played for just a little longer and then mommy said it was time to go take our nap.  We walked up the big hill to our house and I passed out.

Wait a minute my Big Sister isn't sleeping.  Where is she?

She is outside playing with a stick.  That girl does not know what resting means.  I'm going to run and tell her I am all rested up so we can go on our next creek adventure.
